After 7 years of being a BizTalk / Integration MVP (since 2006) I want to thank you all for reading and commenting on my various publications and other musings. Hope you enjoyed (at least some of) it as well.
It’s been interesting to say the least and I’m glad I was an integral part of making Microsoft’s integration middleware what it is today: fantastic!
In the past year, I still wrote a lot (6 white papers, 12 articles and quite some blogs posts) and managed to be the technical editor of BizTalk Server 2010 Unleashed (what an honor!) and the technical reviewer of Thomas Erl’s Cloud Computing: Concepts & Technology (due in May). And I also did quite some speaking gigs.
Although Integration (and SOA) is at the heart of everything I do in my job, I did find out that more and more of my publications are around SharePoint and BPM (including the Business Critical SharePoint seminars and publications which revolve around BPM, Integration and BI as well). I always try to make technology and concepts understandable for business folks as well. Sometimes they get it 😉.
What I also tried to do is bring all this wonderful stuff to the community in The Netherlands (and of course Belgium and some Dutch colonies and maybe South Africa) so I started to write a lot more in my native language Dutch (such as “SharePoint als Social Enterprise Platform”, “SharePoint als Document Management System” and “SharePoint als Enterprise Portal”). I found out that the Dutch community actually really likes reading stuff in their own language once in a while so I’ve decided to continue to do that. But every now and then you’ll still see an English document or article popping up, like “Guidance for Integration Architecture on the Microsoft Business Platform” or “Service Driven SharePoint Enterprise Portal Design”.
I’m certainly not going to change my exhibitional behavior now that I’m a “former MVP”, so stay tuned anyway 😉
